In this exciting episode of In The Kitchen with The Breakfast Brothers, we get a special peek into the intersection of cutting-edge technology and the restaurant world with Christopher Allen, CEO and Founder of Advanced Computing & Technology. Known as the “I.T. Guru” in the restaurant industry, Christopher is a powerhouse in designing and managing tech systems for restaurants nationwide. In this episode, Christopher sits down with Ricky Booker to share his journey from software engineering to transforming the tech landscape for restaurants—and how his unique skills are feeding both the soul and success of The Breakfast Brothers.

Two Locations Serving Breakfast and Innovation

Before we dive into Christopher’s impressive story, let’s talk about the restaurants that make it all possible. The Breakfast Brothers have become a beloved staple in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, offering soulful breakfasts and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers coming back for more.

  • Arlington Location:

  • Oak Cliff Location:

    Monday – Sunday: 7 AM – 5 PM

Both locations are designed to offer top-tier comfort food in an innovative, high-tech environment. And when it comes to technology, that’s where Christopher Allen comes in.

From College Days to Corporate Success

Christopher Allen’s journey into the world of I.T. was not your typical path. He originally went to college on both an academic and basketball scholarship, eventually earning three degrees from Iowa State University. But it wasn’t just academics or sports that captured his attention—it was technology. He found his passion in the world of software engineering, and over the next 16 years, he would become a leading force in the restaurant industry’s tech revolution.

“I’ve been in the restaurant industry for over 16 years now, and the technology side has always intrigued me,” Christopher shares. “I work with a range of restaurants, designing systems that allow them to focus on serving great food while I handle the tech side.”

How Advanced Computing & Technology Became a Game-Changer

What makes Christopher’s company, Advanced Computing & Technology, stand out? In an industry dominated by larger corporations, Christopher is proud to be the only Black-owned I.T. company in Texas of its kind, providing specialized services like network engineering, software integration, and tech consulting specifically tailored for the restaurant industry.

His work doesn’t just stop at setting up systems—he’s transforming entire restaurant operations. Whether it’s wiring locations for point-of-sale (POS) systems, ensuring Wi-Fi works seamlessly for guests, or setting up high-end audio-visual systems, Christopher has played a major role in setting up several high-profile restaurants across the country.

“I’ve opened over 1300 restaurants across the U.S.,” Christopher reveals, mentioning brands like Flying Fish, Flying Saucer, Rodeo Goat, Lark on the Park, and even every Dickie’s Barbecue in the nation. His expertise ensures that each restaurant has the tech infrastructure it needs to run smoothly.

The Breakfast Brothers Collaboration

Christopher’s work with The Breakfast Brothers is particularly exciting. Not only did he help design and wire the new Oak Cliff location, but he’s also responsible for the restaurant’s smooth integration of tech—from the POS systems to the Wi-Fi that keeps guests connected.

“We opened up the new location in Oak Cliff, and everything went smoothly right from the start. All the systems were up and running, and the functionality of the restaurant has been amazing. It’s all thanks to the work Christopher did behind the scenes,” Ricky Booker says.

Giving Back: Christopher’s Mission to Provide Second Chances

Beyond his technical prowess, Christopher is deeply committed to giving back to the community. He works with a unique model in his business—hiring mostly convicted felons as his employees. As part of his mission, he goes back to prisons each month to recruit and train individuals who need a second chance.

“I hire individuals who have been incarcerated. Most of my employees are between 18-22 years old, and I go back to prisons and train them in tech. They get certifications and learn the skills they need to build a better future,” Christopher explains.

His work is more than just installing cables and systems. It’s about giving people opportunities for success and helping them turn their lives around. One of his employees, Antonio, was released from prison after serving 15 years and now works in tech, making $30 an hour.

“It’s about second chances,” Christopher says. “These people might have made mistakes in the past, but they have the potential to change their lives. I’ve been there, and I want to help them.”

Transforming Restaurant Tech: A New Wave of Innovation

Christopher’s impact on the restaurant world isn’t just limited to the Breakfast Brothers. He’s revolutionizing how restaurants operate by partnering with companies like Toast to provide streamlined, all-in-one technology solutions. From POS systems to network engineering, his company is redefining how tech supports restaurants’ growth and success.

“When you’re opening a restaurant, there are a lot of moving parts—systems for ordering, payments, and more. I’ve worked with Toast, OpenTable, DoorDash, and other big names to make sure the tech is in place so restaurant owners can focus on what they do best: serving great food,” he explains.

His company has become a one-stop shop for restaurant tech, managing everything from cabling to software installation and network setup. His approach is meticulous, ensuring everything works in harmony without the mess that often comes with tech installations.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Christopher and Advanced Computing & Technology?

Christopher’s ambition doesn’t stop with restaurants. His future plans include a game-changing project with robotics engineers and a new venture in proprietary POS systems that will push the limits of what restaurants can do with tech.

“I’ve got a lot in the pipeline,” Christopher says. “We’re working on some life-changing technology with robotics, and I have a ton of new restaurant installs lined up this year. It’s an exciting time for Advanced Computing & Technology.”

With a bright future ahead and a clear passion for the work he does, Christopher Allen is not just feeding the soul with great food—he’s feeding the future of the restaurant industry with cutting-edge technology.
